Bilingual School Secretary (French/English)
7.5 hours per day (Monday to Friday)
Effective: December 7, 2020
Term of Employment: December 2020 to December 2021

❏ Collect payments for fees and fundraising.
❏ Compile data from a variety of sources.
❏ Produce a wide variety of documents (correspondence, agendas, minutes, bulletins, etc.)
❏ Maintain manual and electronic documents.
❏ Respond to inquiries from a variety of external and internal parties (staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.).
❏ Administer first aid and prescription medications to students (under the
direction of a healthcare professional) for the purpose of providing emergency or necessary care in accordance with Divisional policies.
❏ Support administrative personnel – providing assistance where necessary.
❏ Provide other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
❏ Minimum of Grade 12 education.
❏ Post-secondary administrative assistant training (an asset).
❏ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an administrative role (preferably in a school setting).
❏ Experience with Maplewood, SRB and Atrieve (staff, budget, and purchase order database) an asset.
❏ Must be bilingual (read, write, speak) fluently in both French and English.
❏ Strong oral and written communication skills.
❏ Organizational and self starter.
❏ Strong team player.
❏ Problem solving skills.
❏ Sense of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
❏ Flexibility and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
