In this role, you will:

  • Create and describe plans during a bidding phase then execute these plans during the transition period
  • Manage, and maintain plans and schedules to enable the effective and efficient transition of services from incumbent suppliers to Babcock Canada
  • Collaborate fully with the Program Management Team, pipeline programs managers and the technical solution subject matter expert to create milestone acceptance plans
  • Unite transition activity data from multiple subject matter experts into a coherent plan
  • Support the cost estimation for resources required to drive planning activities
  • Analyze required resources needed to execute planned activities
  • Combine and manipulate multiple schedules, analyze conflicts and report information appropriately to allow the Program Management Team and senior management to assess transition program integrity
  • Analyze the transition schedule’s critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend alternative solutions
  • Attend Customer facing engagement sessions and workshops on transition planning
  • Identify and support the management of all transition-related program risks

The ideal candidate:

  • Able to attend in person meetings in our Ottawa office when necessary
  • Demonstrated experience with transition plan creation during bidding of large government programmes
  • You will be proficient in the use of project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project
  • You will preferably hold a Project Management Professional Designation
  • You will have a minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience, ideally in the defence industry as a program or scheduling lead, managing a technical program to performance, cost and time
  • You will have the ability to comprehend business needs, synthesize technical and specialized knowledge and translate them into a cohesive strategy
  • You will have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You will possess excellent analytical and planning skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Is able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • You will be proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • You will have excellent organizational and time management skills
  • You will demonstrate utmost discretion and confidentiality, complying with company ethical guidelines
  • Has the ability to work effectively within a team setting and also to provide leadership when required to do so
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
