Family Doctor Finder Agent (Bilingual)

Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living is currently seeking a Family Doctor Finder Agent. The Family Doctor Finder Contact Centre provides assistance to residents of Manitoba to connect them with available health care providers. The Program is targeted toward ensuring appropriate connection between Manitoba residents and family physicians to address long-term primary care needs.  

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be bilingual (French and English)
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience in a client services environment providing information and answering inquiries by phone or in person
  • Strong customer service skills to manage client expectations and provide courteous and respectful support
  • Experience performing administrative or clerical tasks such as data entry, typing documents, preparing reports, and answering phones
  • Strong written communication skills in both French and English in order to draft written responses to the public regarding inquires about the program
  • Strong verbal communication skills in both French and English
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information

Desired:

  • Knowledge of the Health Services Act

Duties:

Under the general supervision of the Registration and Client Services Supervisor, the Family Doctor Finder Agent is responsible for gathering information from Manitoba residents who are seeking available health care providers and assist in connecting them with a physician or clinic accepting new patients. The Doctor Finder Agent will also be responsible for processing requests for change of address or replacement Manitoba Health Cards over the phone, in writing, or in person.
