Anticipated Term: December 2018 to June 28, 2019
The successful candidate will possess the necessary skills to assist students in becoming successful learners.
These include knowledge of respective disciplines, the use of learning technologies, the creation of an effective
learning environment, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of how adolescents and adults learn.
The Industrial Welding Instructor position involves instructing primarily in a shop setting. The instructor may be
exposed to various shop conditions, and needs to be prepared to:
• Handle materials within the shop and outdoors as required.
• Perform and demonstrate housekeeping duties.
• Operate basic hand tools and powered hand tools – i.e., drills, disc grinders, etc.
• Operate equipment as needed and also demonstrate procedures to students such as metal cutting saws,
cutting torches, drills, various types of welding equipment, forklift operating and lastly but not limited to
various pneumatic equipment.
• Perform work safely and follow established safe work procedures
Required Qualifications and Experience include but is not limited to:
• Interprovincial Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal) Welder
• A minimum of 6 years trade/industry experience.
• Preference will be given to individuals with a valid Vocational Industrial Teaching Certificate.
