In this role, you will:
Work alongside the Business Development team, the Head of Procurement and Supply Management and the Program Team to:

support market investigations with potential supply chain members to understand their viability in supply to the program prior to formal commercial supply chain engagement

support the development of proposals and tenders and participate in relevant customer dialogue where appropriate

Define and deliver the Procurement Plan aligned with the overall Bid Project Plan

Provide high-quality Procurement and Supply Chain materials, for inclusion in bids, to reflect the best functional practices

Identify the most appropriate supply solution in terms of capability, risk profile, and total cost of ownership to deliver the capability required to support new business opportunities

Analyze the competitor landscape to understand any shortfalls or gaps in supply chain capability and potential innovative solutions

Follow trends in supply markets and research innovative supply solutions / technology road maps as required

Manage supplier relationships throughout the bid process as appropriate

Work closely with the wider procurement teams across Sector and Group ensuring capability and best practices are leveraged

Deliver robust contract management post award, implementing negotiated agreements and managing supplier relationships, including management of post contract award variations and risks

Manage key Stakeholders through the bid and mobilization activity, including Project Leads, Functional Leads and Line of Business Leads

Provide high quality reporting on milestones and risks, identifying in good time where additional resources and support may be required

Be a visible role model through your professionalism, commitment, focus, and commerciality

Demonstrate a motivated and results-focused approach, promoting a culture of trust, teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer focus

As our ideal candidate,

You have three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar role
You have working knowledge of the Canadian defense and aerospace industry
You are Government qualified or hold an appropriate Procurement designation or qualification, such as Supply Chain Management Association
You have experience within the Aviation sector; knowledge of Ground Based Training Equipment, Base/Aerodrome services and Flight training will be an advantage
You have strong experience in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing
You possess deep knowledge of current strategic Procurement techniques and value levers
You have a proven track record in the delivery of innovative supply chains for a range of projects, demonstrating flexibility in approach
You have knowledge of commercial business practices and proven communication skills, both verbally and written
You have a proven track record in commercial negotiations in a relevant industry or environment
Experience working in a matrix organization is preferred
You have good working knowledge of and experience in developing sourcing strategies, drafting contracts, and negotiations
You have experience analyzing information whilst using critical thinking
You are proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
You have experience in industrial supply chain (considered an asset)
You have experience with computerized purchasing systems, Enterprise Resource Planning tools (considered an asset)
You will be eligible for a Canadian Secret Security clearance
