CASUAL ON-CALL COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER

CASUAL ON-CALL (Day, evening, overnight shifts) RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. supervision of client 2. Household maintenance 3. Laundry and meal planning/preparation. 4. Follows protocol for routine practice and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. 5. Organizes work according to client needs and assigned tasks. 6. Maintains accountability by working with program guidelines, and observing and reporting changes in client conditions to the manager 7. Maintain client confidentiality. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Requires experience in client supervision, meal preparation housekeeping and laundry services. 2. Demonstrated knowledge, awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures. 3. Education and/or experience working with people with mental health issues, anxiety, FASD, and behavioural/emotional challenges. 4. Ability to travel between assignments in the community area to several private homes of clients within Winnipeg and surrounding areas and to adapt to changes in scheduling on short notice required. 5. First Aid/C.P.R. and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training required 6.Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills 7. Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills required. 8. Recent experience working with the elderly and/or physically disabled an asset. 9. Ability to work independently in a community setting and function as a team member. 10. Food handler certificate required. This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
